What do you do on a sunny day in China? You hit the parks.
Guiyang has many great parks, and this one is quite near my house. So, my friends took me to this park to show me some natural beauties of the district. The parks here differ a lot from the parks back home. Here, in some parks, you can actually drive in with your motorbike, scooter and sometimes with your car. This one for example is such a park. The reason for being able to drive in is, that the road through the park leads to some residential areas on the hills above the lake.
In other parks, you need a licence to drive in, and in many parks you can hire bicycles to drive around. Unfortunately, you can't do this in this park any more. However, there are some electric mini busses you can take, and hop on and off.
We bought tickets for the busses, went to the first stop, walked from there to the second, discovered that there are many more places to see and visit, which are not accessible by bus, and returned to the car park to take the scooters.
Chinese parks also have restaurants, tea houses, various bridges and buildings that are decorated in traditional style, lakes and rivers. You can go on boat tours, cycling tours or just walk around. Some even have temples.
Here's an intro.
